Seattle King County Water Taxi New Bike Rules – Temporary shutdown for one week – There will be no Water Taxi service from Monday, July 22nd through Sunday, July 28th, while staff prepare a brand new terminal. Service will resume from the new Pier 50 terminal on Monday, July 29th.
The King County Water Taxi’s newest vessel, the MV Doc Maynard has a capacity of 278 passengers. MV Doc Maynard is one of two new water taxis built with grant money from the Federal Transit Administration.
Over the last few years, boarding has been at the temporary passenger ferry terminal located on Pier 52. On Monday, July 29, the new facility is scheduled to come online and will be the new home for passengers coming from or heading to Vashon Island, West Seattle, Bremerton, and Kingston.
The Water Taxi docks in Seacrest Park in West Seattle. The park is easy to reach by bus, neighborhood shuttles, and waterfront pathways for walkers and bicyclists. Visitors to West Seattle will find easy access to waterfront trails, Alki beach, fishing piers, restaurants, and shops along California Avenue.
